current series
This is a section to highlight some of the anime series that i'm watching at the moment.
.Hack is an anime about people who play a specific MMORPG called "The World". Tsukasa, a wizard, gets stuck in the game, unable to log out. He effectively becomes part of the game, and this intrigues other players. They are searching for the "Key of the Twilight", which is said to give tremendous power to the one who finds it.
Ai Yori Aoshi is a cute and slightly ecchi anime about Aoi and Kaoru, who were childhood friends from different prominent families. She finds him again now that they are teenagers and they start to fall in love, but there are obstacles.. ^_^
A new anime made by CLAMP. Hideki, a farm boy, goes to Tokyo to attend prep school because he failed the college entrance exam. He sees lots of Persocons (computers in the shape of a person) when he gets there. Then he finds a mysterious Persocon that was lying on a trash heap, but she seems to be malfunctioning.. Is Chii really part of the legendary Chobits series of Persocons? It can get really ecchi at times, but that's CLAMP for ya..
A fantasy story about Haru Glory, who is searching for his father and for the pieces of Rave.. He meets Elie along the way, and she is looking for memories of her past. Plue, a weird dog-like thing, accompanies Haru. It's a really funny series, but the story is good too. It looks like it'll be going into a 3rd season as well.
This one is about the ancient and popular board game Go. Shindou Hikaru finds a dusty Go board in his grandfather's attic and meets the spirit of Fujiwarano Sai, a very good Go player from the Heian period. At first Hikaru isn't interested in playing go. After meeting Touya Akira, a boy his age that is almost on a professional level, he starts to become skilled himself.
A VERY WEIRD ANIME. Guu is a girl with mysterious and quite freaky powers that was seemingly sent to the jungle to torment Hale in her own special way. She is very good at doing so. This anime is really funny, and very very odd.
Jing is the King of Bandits, a notorious thief who can steal anything. This series seems to be somewhat episodic, but there is an overall plot. The various locations and cities in this world are very well drawn, and quite unique. A talking black bird named Keel accompanies Jing, and also can turn into a beam weapon of some sort.
Asakura Yoh has a goal: To become the Shaman King! His reason for doing this is so he can live an easy life afterwards. o_O This anime is about Shamans, people who can control and channel spirits. We see Yoh improve dramatically by fighting and making friends with other shamans. But, in the end there can be only one Shaman King.
Echizen Ryoma is a high school freshman who is described as a genius tennis player. This anime is about him and his teammates in the Seigaku tennis club. There are some very unique characters, and the interaction between them is great. It made me get interested in playing tennis and racquetball.
This one's about Soccer. I'm sure it got a lot more popular due to the recent World Cup. Shou Kazamatsuri transferred schools to play soccer, and this anime is about his drive to become a good player and to have fun. Check it out if you like sports anime!
